Lots of New Photos!

So I've spent most of the day re-modelling some of my old photos which were pretty awefully done and i'm much happier with the new ones. This first one is (obviously) a hot pink zebra print hoodie with the most gorgeously soft cotton fleecy lining i've ever felt on a hoodie!

Photobucket

I really like this newspaper print hoodie, the picture isn't the greatest, but i think the hoodie is awesome and has the same lovely soft lining as the zebra!

I still can't decide if i like this kitty ears jacket or not. It's quite unusual and not really my style but i figured i have to try a bit of everything to see what people like! Oh and it also has those pre-made thumb holes which are pretty cool.

Okay, so this one isn't a "re-modelling", it's a new item. Apologies for the semi nakedness but i was trying to tie the picture in with my friends Fashion Photography work to save time! It's basically a bustier style top with elasticated corset front which is largely adjustable and an elasticated halter neck strap (also adjustable) although i need to take some better pictures to show the strap!

White and Black Polka Dot Corset Top

Yesterday I had my first day off since Christmas and went and stayed with some friends. It was lovely to have a break but I’m glad to be back : )

I’ve just realised that I really need to start designing some more T shirts and tops as I really don’t have as many as I thought! That’s my goal for today then, come up with a few new designs. I know it’s not really the weather at the moment but I must be prepared!

I think my black and white polka dot corset top is, although one of my more simpler designs, probably one of my favourite tops that I sell. It is basically a fitted strapless corset style top with a zip at the back and lovely blue satin ribbon at the front which can be used to adjust the tightness of the front section to fit the figure more accurately, made from our popular white/black polka dot fabric.

Although the picture is pretty ancient, i look seriously tanned, yay!

Faux Fur Zebra and Giraffe Print Dresses

Today I thought I’d write about another of my favourite dresses, which I actually havn’t sold many of in quite a while since my fabric supplier has been out of stock for months. But now that they’re back in stock I should hopefully be making a few Faux Fur Zebra Print Dresses again soon.

This strapless dress is made from gorgeous soft faux fur fabric in black and white zebra stripe print with a well fitted upper section and tutu style bottom half. I use 2 tiers of thick black netting to help the bottom half stick out and a matching black satin ribbon around the bust of the dress. Also shown in the picture is the same dress in giraffe print.

Thinking of Ways of Moving Forwards...

Today I realized that although I describe my clothing range as alternative, emo and gothic clothing, I don’t actually have that many dark or gothic designs, most of my stuff is actually pretty bright! I don’t understand why that is considering that I dress in black a lot of the time and little else, but I love looking at bright colours and outfits on other people . Maybe I need to get designing again to branch out a bit more into the gothic region. Does anyone have any ideas of what they’d like to see?

I’m also thinking that I really need to start stocking trousers. (I’m definitely not good enough to make them myself!) As you can probably tell I’m starting to make a plan for how to move forward and actually start earning some money from my business.

I wish I had the time to go back to making really unique, one-off, crafty diy style, fun outfits, I think I was a lot more creative back when I first started out. But those used to take me a lot longer and making “one offs” is hard because I can’t just assume that everyone is going to fit whatever size I make it in. Not to mention the fact that I don’t have the time or money to spend! Perhaps I should focus on actually earning from selling what I have and what I can stock from other providers and then I can go back to focusing more time on coming up with some really unique and less mainstream ideas!

Here's some examples of some of my really old one off designs! They may not be the most tasteful or fashionable but you can see how much more thought went into the details and making them completely different to anything else out there.

That bottom one was meant to be a make up bag in case you can't tell.

My next thought is of how I’m going to make the move into selling menswear aswell. I never intended to be purely making women’s alternative clothing but it just sort of happened that way considering I’m not a man and I don’t know what sort of things men like or what I would wear if I was a man. But since I’ve started stocking a few bits and pieces from other companies, I guess this could be my way of gradually moving into stocking both women and men’s alternative clothing.

Turquoise Satin Decorated Handbag

I was a bit nervous about starting a blog because i didnt really know how to go about it or what to expect, but im so glad i did! Thank you to everyone for all the lovely positive feedback on my work :) And especially to those of you who went on to buy things!!

Today i thought i'd write about my favourite bag that I ever made-This turquoise satin handbag with decorative beads, ribbons, buttons and sequins. I made it as one of a series, each of which took me several hours to hand stitch on all of the detail in it's own unique composition. I used massive 2" wide buttons in various colours, big blue sequins, beautiful multicoloured ribbons and pearly strings of beading. I was sad to see the bag go as it was my favourite!

I also have a very similar bag, emerald green in the same satin fabric.

Bright Green Lace Up Corset Belt

Today im feeling bright and happy because my father is coming to visit this afternoon :) So i thought i'd write about a bright and colourful item to express my mood...

Here we have a brilliant green waistbelt with unique spots and dots pattern. I still cant figure out if they are supposed to be eyes or sweets or just a random pattern, but i love it all the same. I've used lovely faux suede D Ring Tape (the rings are actually silver but the picture makes them look more brassy which is annoying) and strong black satin ribbon to give it that gothic/alternative look. The best thing about these corset belts is that they are so adjustable that they will fit a wide range of clothes sizes. And they have the same effect as a corset, by holding your waist in and creating that hourglass figure shape, but for a fraction of the price!

Zebra Print Jacket with Hood

Today I think I'd like to write about my zebra print hooded jacket. I love this jacket because it's more delicate and effeminate than a standard hoodie which tend to be a lot more bulky. Not meaning to insult hoodies-i love them, but they do tend to be a less flattering shape because they are focussed around warmth. My favourite feature of this jacket is how the bottom edge is gathered to an elasticated waistband which offers the effect of creating or enhancing an hourglass shape.

I personally prefer the zebra print but i also make the same jacket in leopard print.

Musical Notes Dress

PRODUCT OF THE DAY!!

Today I thought I'd write about one of my favourite dresses, which coincidentally also appears to be your favourite of our products acheiving the most views so far! Im talking about our musical notes dress in black and white. The top half is well fitted and figure flattering with tutu-style bottom half. The black fabric and black netting give it a slightly gothic feel, (not to mention a slimming effect!) and the funky musical notes will attract lots of eyes!

Here it is on the website!
