More Wintery Wear :)

I have made a couple more wintery style things this week. First off, after years and years of my parents hassling me to wear a coat because I'll "catch a chill", but refusing to because a)they are expensive and I don't often treat myself to new things and b)I can never find any coats that I even like, I finally took the time to make myself one. ANNNNDD I like it! It's a cropped coat made from black cotton and lined with black fleece, the hood is also lined with fleece which feels lovely on my head. It's sort of like wrap around, with adjustable silver buckle fastenings and large silver eyelets for decoration. But it's also joined at the bottom, so it's more of a pullover than a coat. I made it short/cropped to emphasize my waist as I hate how frumpy and unsexy coats normally make me feel. I know, I know what you're thinking..."She'll still catch a chill with her midriff on show like that"....WRONG! I only shot the photos like this to make it clear that it is cropped, however it can, and will be warn with other clothes underneath. It's just a lot easier to see the actual length of it without clothes underneath, since all my clothes are black.

Anyway I'm waffling now...This took me agggesss! Although I haven't figured out yet if that's because of the design or whether it's simply that I haven't made any coats before, so once I've had a bit more practice, I would be up to speed a bit better. I'm thinking the latter. So I'm still in the process of deciding whether to list it for sale on my website or not, due to the time/money involved. However I had a lot of positive feedback when I posted the pic on facebook last night, so maybe I will...

And I made another long sleeved hooded dress top, similar to my tartan hooded dress top from my previous post. This one is also made from black cotton with panels of black and white skull and crossbones print cotton on the front and back. There's a big panel on the back to add warmth and thickness. Oh and I added a cute front pocket and extra strips of skulls on the sleeves. And the bottom hem or the dress as well as the sleeves are cuffed.

Haven't made any of these in a while....

This week I've been trying to accept that it's cold and it is only going to get colder, so it's time to start making some stuff that will actually provide some warmth while still looking good. I find it's difficult to look good in the winter, when it gets super cold I tend to just pile on the man jumpers, but this year I'm going to make it my goal to make some proper nice warm gear. Though since this is a bit of a foreign area to me, I decided to start of with some long sleeved tops and then ease my way into some warmer jackets and things :)

I was quite inspired by a recent custom order of mine for a Morticia Addams dress, so decided to make a top in a similar style to that. The dress is a floor length fishtail dress in black velvet with v shaped neckline and long caps on the sleeves. Luckily this awesome customer is the same size as me so I managed to get a quick shot of the dress. Anyway I liked the velvetyness and the long sleeves so made a long sleeved top in the same fabric which is now listed on my website, custom made to fit-regular and plus size.

Here's the Morticia dress...

I then went on to attempt a hooded dress top, which turned out great (jf I do say so my self). It's really comfy and snugly and I didnt want to take it off after shooting the photos for it. It's made from black cotton lycra with panels of stretch red tartan print, which add extra warmth and thickness to the front and especially the large panel on the back. The hood is plain black and lined with tartan which makes it extra awesome and gives the hood some extra thickness and snugglyness too. From the pictures it's not very clear but there are also silver D rings on the shoulders. I photographed it as a dress alone so you can see it clearly, but obviously could be warn over leggings or jeans to keep nice and cosy. This one is also available custom made to fit regular or plus size.

New Long Sleeved Gothic Tops

I've been working on so much new stuff lately, I've gotten really behind with updating my blog and now I'm up to my shoulders in orders to make which is very exciting as things haven't been this good in a while!

Thought I'd show the latest long sleeved tops first as they are the oldest...so first we have a long sleeved black gothic lace top with stretchy semi see-through lace sleeves and centre panel with black ribbon lace up over the top. Next there's a long sleeved top made from big "pot hole" style fishnet with black cotton spike shapes covering the bust and midriff. I think this is one of the most unusual and creative pieces I've come up with in a while and it seems to be the fave overall so far. And lastly another gothic top made from black mesh with cotton covering the bust and waist with individually sewn on skulls on the bust.

Printed Bikini Tops

Today I've been working on some new bikini tops. In the past 5 days I've sold a comic strip bikini top, a leopard print bikini top, a zebra print bikini top and a strawberry print bikini top. I really want to make one out of the cute black with white stars fabric that I've been using a lot lately, but at the moment, I'm just using the best fabrics I can find in my cupboard, which so far appear to be black cotton with red and white skull-and-crossbones print and cute white-with-black-polka dot print.

I need to take some photos as soon as I've made a few more in other fabrics. I also have a black and white stars tutu skirt that needs to go online. I'm getting behind with the photos again!

In other news I've been selling a lot of the items I've recently started listing on ebay. It's fantastic! The black slashes long and short sleeved t shirts and black holes cropped jacket seem to be going down really well :)

New PVC and Fetish Type Clothes

Again, as promised here are some photos from my latest shoot. I think these are some of the most complex designs I’ve done so far. First of all here’s my favourite (as mentioned yesterday) I’ve been told that it makes me look like the Terminator so I was tempted to call it “The Terminator Jacket” but I don’t think that sounds as cool to most people as it does in my head! Its made from PVC with 7 strips up each arm which have been cut at a curved angle to show slits of skin. These are sewn onto a thin strip of soft stretchy cotton so that it is easier to get in and out of and so that it moulds the shape of the arm better. The zip at the front does up to the top, where there is a collar which ties up through a couple of eyelets, creating a sort of authoritative/dominatrix look.

Next we have a stretchy black jersey short dress with the same sort of style sleeves except made from jersey with PVC piping around the edges of the panels. The front section has two parts overlapping creating that revealing low cut for great cleavage!

Right, there are a couple more things, but i'll post them tomorrow, still have so much left to do today!

Black Holes Cropped Jacket

black holes cropped jacket
Today I had an order for one of my favorite jackets, my Black Holes Cropped Jacket. It is a fairly plain black jacket but it is unique in the way it has a pattern of holes along the sleeves and is a short jacket that starts at the top of the waist as opposed to the bottom. It probably isn’t ideal for the snowy conditions in the UK at the moment, however works well as a decorative extra layer in warmer times and places! What I like most is the overall slightly futuristic look this jacket has to it, sort of like what the typical dark, mysterious, sexy girl in most sci-fi films would wear!

Over the next few days i plan to start producing a lot of new items, hopefully a range of new skirts and tops/t-shirts in preparation for the coming spring and preferably warmer weather!

Zebra Print Jacket with Hood

Today I think I'd like to write about my zebra print hooded jacket. I love this jacket because it's more delicate and effeminate than a standard hoodie which tend to be a lot more bulky. Not meaning to insult hoodies-i love them, but they do tend to be a less flattering shape because they are focussed around warmth. My favourite feature of this jacket is how the bottom edge is gathered to an elasticated waistband which offers the effect of creating or enhancing an hourglass shape.

I personally prefer the zebra print but i also make the same jacket in leopard print.
